The Dark Storm hacktivist group claims to be behind DDoS attacks causing multiple X worldwide outages on Monday, leading the company to enable DDoS protections from Cloudflare.

While X owner Elon Musk did not specifically state that DDoS attacks were behind the outages, he did confirm that it was caused by a "massive cyberattack.".

"There was (still is) a massive cyberattack against X," Musk posted on X.
"We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources. Either a large, coordinated group and/or a country is involved. Tracing ..."
Dark Storm is a pro-Palestinian hacktivist group that launched in 2023 and has previously targeted organizations in Israel, Europe, and the US.
Today, the group posted to their Telegram channel that they were conducting DDoS attacks against Twitter, sharing screenshots and links [1, 2] to the check-host.net site as proof of the attack.
Check-host.net is a website that allows visitors to check the availability of a website from different servers throughout the world. The website is commonly used during DDoS attacks to show that an attack is taking place.

X is now being protected by the DDoS-protection service Cloudflare, which shows a captcha when suspicious IP addresses connect to the site when a single IP address generates too many requests.
The help.x.com section of the site currently displays a Cloudflare captcha for all requests, as shown below.

Another "big shot" from Dark Storm — DDoS attacks on X, global outages, and, of course, some flashy Telegram screenshots for extra clout. All by the book: latch onto a hot topic, target Musk, kick off the chaos, and scream "we did it!" from the rooftops. Using check-host.net as "proof" is basically their calling card at this point — like, "look, we’re for real!" Meanwhile, X pulls out the full Cloudflare defense, captchas for everyone, and Musk drops a cryptic "this was a massive cyberattack". Hype secured: one side rides the "hacker glory" wave, the other flexes their "standing tall against the enemy" vibe. Textbook playbook — tons of noise, zero substance, profit for all.

For some time now, I've had this doubt about Elon Musk: are the medications he’s taking influencing the way he responded to the DDoS attack?

I mean: I'm one of this that dislike all actions of Elon Musk (political or not) and at the same time I don't want to generate pointless discussions with users who disagree with me. Still, when I saw some declarations declarations of Musk in media I think: "Really?. It don't seems very nice and rational man."

I'm not sure if i'm explain cleary.

Dark Storm Team claim responsibility, meanwhile Elon Musk states that the attack was carried out from Ukrainian IPs. that's just funny, I don't know who in their right mind would believe in the success of such a large-scale attack by a ridiculous group like the Dark Storm Team. I would rather believe that it was really organized by some state hackers or Musk himself in order to show what a victim he is on the wave of hate.
