Well, although we could not for sure know we are not in a simulation, there is no use in believing we are. There is just no way to proof, so the best assumption involves that which involves the least resulting complexity: just us without a sim. Just be happy and not let people get to you, as you cannot control what others do, whether we are in a sim or not.

If this universe were a simulation, surely we could start over from the beginning, or in parts where we consider our role in that part to be an unsatisfactory achievement. Everything can be played backwards or forwards according to our wishes.
