Mostly collecting hashes and building profiles of certain people.

Storage is cheap, data comes and goes, it's a good idea to store it. Data hoarding is nice. It's just nice to have data.

I agree there's no harm gathering it also as long as it will not affect you in a way might as well keep it

Pretty sure the breaches are used for credential stuffing or something like that, also if they leak important stuff they could obviously be used for financial fraud and stuff. I don't have a good reason for using breaches but it would be interesting to try and use it to make money.

I don't use such data but I am sure people use it for all kind of stuff starting from phishing and who knows what else.

i would say phishing as well as just hording

I use them to collect creds for sign-ins, data, licensing for software, creds to streaming accounts, software collections, etc. Dont judge me because I am a data hoarder
