This is my second post on this forum, so judge strictly.

So, my business partner and I decided to make our MVP to test our idea and become millionaires, obviously. I wrote the front, he wrote the back, and we divided everything else equally, I configured nginx and he configured docker. And you won't believe it, we made our product in 2 weeks of hard work.

When the day X of launching our product came, we chose digital ocean as a VPS provider, and everything went smoothly, until a couple of days later we noticed that our entire CPU was being eaten by malware, it stupidly ate up all the resources and mined crypto there, he even didn't hesitate to leave us a readme with a description of where to send the crypto for getting the DB back.

My colleague fought with it for 2 days, he either added a cron that killed it every 2 hours, or did some other dances with a tambourine, in the end we managed to cure the machine, but not get rid of it.

So, dear experts, please tell me how to protect my server from you?
