Installing ubuntu on laptop

So basically I have a laptop with a 128GB SSD, I also have the Ubuntu .ISO file on a USB stick and after doing the entire installation process, I restart, the system asks to remove the USB and press enter, I do that, then the laptop restarts and says "No bootable device". Inside the BIOS I have the SSD in first place in the boot priorities and have done a lot of other things to try and fix it but nothing worked.

I wonder if anyone can help me with this Smile

Check how your BIOS is configured (disable secure boot, etc).

Take a look at it No bootable device found , maybe it will help you.

Even with secure boot disabled and BIOS configured the right way it didn't work so I tried installing Arch because it has a different setup and it was the only one that worked lmao. Thanks anyways

you might need to change legacy vs uefi mode. if not then its probably secure boot

probably the bootload is not installed on the right disk. should probably be /dev/sda if it's an SSD. If it's not on the right partition, the system won't boot.

I agree with joepa, either the bootloader is not on the right disk or not installed correctly.

Ubuntu and your laptop's firmware (BIOS/UEFI) need to be in the same mode. If you installed Ubuntu in UEFI mode but your BIOS is set to Legacy (or vice versa), it won't boot.

I had such problems on kali and parrot, but on ubuntu everything started right the first time
