Why would Blinken affirm that Iran is not behind that attack? They know Iran helped. US just don't want to be dragged figthing a larger conflict.

Could be. It is pretty well known that russia has contacts to both hamas and Hizbollah.
I believe they even had a hamas delegation in the kremlin?
Wether russia directly provided support to hamas we dont know, what is known that russia has supplied Hizbollah with weapons and training, there are even some pictures of russian special forces rocking Hizbollah patches in Syria and Ukraine.
