Hey,
I have been scrolling around in some sections of this forum, and certain telegram channels, and the following three words keep coming up:
lead, leak, targ

my basic understanding is that a targ is a concrete target for some kind of attack.

But I cannot seem to understand the difference between leads and leaks.
Leaks intuitively make me think of data that is leaked.
But the previews I have seen for leads seem the same.

If they were to be the same, why would they need different sections?

"Leads" is a term that came from the marketing world, where it means the "list of potential customer".
The email marketing team would collect emails from various sources to make a mailing list to advertise their products, they call it the "leads".

Back to our underground world, the "leads" would mean the data that contains many valid and active emails, that spammers could use to send their phishing/malware campaigns to.. well.. "potential customers"

Leads is anything containing customer information without citing the source
Leaks is databases of known sources/sites
