digging this one up to add my 2 cents.

i think we are all aware there's some nonsense posted in the leaks sections and it kind of diminishes the value of leaks if it's flooded daily by new users. it would be nice (unless this is a thing already)... if certain sections of the forum aren't accessible until new members contribute to the community more by actually interacting with other users in the lounge or SB, or whatever.

when i first joined it was a bit annoying to see people just post random things to get their character count in to reveal a thread. Especially considering they are saying "thanks yada yada..." without knowing what exactly they're thanking for or validating that what's being posted in the thread is still of any value. it increases engagement but at the expense of thread integrity. (if this is something that matters to admins).

sort of in addition to what I mentioned above, it would be nice to be able to "upvote" replies in threads so that you don't have to sift through pages of nonsense replies to find real responses. this could probably be gamed at face value, but i feel 14 pages of "thanks i'll check it out" discourages real responses because they just get lost in the abyss. the most "community" feeling places i feel are the SB and General sections, where the Leaks section rarely feels worth looking through with the volume of threads.

it's a hard problem, but i think it's an important one.. for me at least.

if people want access to what the forums truly has to offer, maybe a $1-5 donation would do, but i get the challenges that come with that and growing a large community, among other things.

Make clear for new users that they first need 10 valid posts or threads in order to start earning credits, For the last 2 days users have been asking the same "How to get 8 credits"
