Hi, I'm a bit new to this topic, although I know something, it's not much, the thing is that there are many people with a political idiology distributing false information about other candidates/politicians, they are really nasty people, I proposed as an experiment to try to enter their accounts, and here my question.
Is it possible to get the data of those people, like their emails, phone numbers, etc, to try to do social engineering and get their passwords?

well, first you have to look what you have on that target.
Then search with osint, if you can't find anything, relevant, try looking for parents and friends.
You might not send a phishing link to the target but you can send these to their sons for example.
Once you get inside on the sons account for example, you can manage to get more info about the target, see if the account can control their home for example, they can be linked with alexa or something.
If you have some e-mail you can search in a vast list of pass leaks sites, or you can search and download these database in web sites like these one, so withs those pass you can get in and play.
A lot of strategies can be done, but everything will depend on what data you have and what you ill be getting on osint search.
