First things first, the subject is about Canute's philosophy after Ragnar's death or Canute's philosophy as a king.
All who watched Vinland Saga knows that Canute was a faithful Christian before Ragnar's death, remember the chat between Canute and his priest after Ragnar's death, the chat was about true love and achieving Heaven. The end of the chat, Canute has convinced about the true love's possibility does not exist; all the love we call is nepotism, because no mother loves all children like her child, because no person loves all people like the people they know, and this is nepotism. And people can not achieve Heaven who does not have the true love. So, because of true love's practically absence, no one can achieve Heaven. And Canute tells to Father "If your Heaven is impossible to achieve, I will set Heaven on the earth."
Although Canute thinks like that, he still believes in Father and the power of Father (we know that from the scene in the episode of "Emperor of Rebellion", he gives orders to waves for show the proof about how powerful God is.), and also he still has morals too (for example he prohibits looting), but his perceptions are not the same as before. He does cruel things too to a few of innocent people for the benefit of the majority of people (For example, things he did to his brother).
Back to his religious thinks, he is not a fideist (fideism separates logic and faith) because his acts shows he kinda has harboring hostility to the God, so he looks like a believer but he does not separate logic and faith, so he has a unique belief and he describes himself as a rebellious of the God.
If you think I am wrong about these opinions or I missed something, I want to know the other opinions too.
If you have read this far, I appreciate you.
