Hello all,

I have been wondering today if anyone has been collecting cargo ship manifest data.  If nothing else, it would be an interesting set of data to examine to see what is going on in the shipping world and find out what is being moved across our oceans.  I know there are plenty of websites that track ships, if they have their beacons on, but manifests would help identify what they are carrying (if truthful).

This information might give some enlightenment to the "goings on" that we would otherwise not know about, and might help lead some people to go after some companies.

Just a thought.

If i'm not mistaken, isn't shipment manifest only collected/gathered by the customs' officers of each country? Even that data is bribe-able, i suppose, at least here where i come from
