THE MIDDLE CHILDREN OF HISTORY

A male individual born between 1995 and 2005.

I don't even know where to start. I understand that every era needs to be analyzed within its own unique context and demographic makeup, but for us, the men born in the Millennium Era, the circumstances and societal dynamics seem to exist on an entirely different, almost incomprehensible level.

When I look back to our childhood, a time when technology and social media hadn't yet taken over our lives so aggressively, I can’t help but feel how genuine and heartfelt everything was.
Good and bad, beautiful and ugly, simple and complex—there were always just two clear choices, and nothing felt as overwhelmingly complicated as it does now.

Sure, the world has always been a mix of suffering and joy—it was never all sunshine and rainbows, and I’m not trying to romanticize it. What I mean is that life seemed to follow a certain set of rules back then. It felt fairer, more predictable, as though everyone understood the unspoken guidelines of the "game."

Now, when I look around—especially after the COVID-19 pandemic—interpersonal relationships (friendship, love, trust, etc.) seem to have become entirely transactional. It feels like people have run out of patience for one another. It's as though we’ve been trapped in some sort of Matrix.

And if that weren’t enough, we’re culturally and socially fragmented as well. We’re witnessing such a level of consumerism that people don’t even buy products anymore—they buy the advertisements. The rapid integration of artificial intelligence into our daily lives seems to be slowly eroding the authenticity in areas like art, science, philosophy, and music—the intangible elements that nourish the human soul.

On top of all this, we have the increasing financial struggles to deal with. It’s like we’re in a maze with no way out.

Maybe we truly are the "middle children of history," as the movie suggests.

Sharing my thoughts here on BF helps me feel a little less alone. If you have anything to add, agree with, or challenge, I’d love to open this up for discussion.

Nah man, the middle happened ages ago, we're edging towards the precipice now...

Since we are on the verge of the end, do you suggest we act with the motto "life loves the brave"?

For once, I am reading something from a person with intelligence on here, someone with a brain, that can think & express their thoughts.
I'm not going to add anything to this, I'm just your average ol" fart born in the 1940's & grew up in the 1950's, when the world was totally different than the shit we deal with today. A nickel would get you a regular sized candy bar & $.15 would buy you a gallon of gas, where we all chipped in to fill the car up for 2-3 dollars. lol !
The CEO of the company back then, went to your church & was not into taking half the revenue the company took in, to better himself & make the workers work for next to nothing, to make him rich & be greedy, like they are today.
I appreciate your taking the time to write what you have done, its a pleasure to read something for once, from an intelligent person. Keep it up & these clowns might just learn something & start acting normal for a change. lol !!

By the way, I added a bit to your reputation, just for your posting, so, keep doing the right things.

I guess so, I mean fear gives way to bravery, and bravery makes heroes. That checks out I guess Smile

First of all, I would like to state that I am very happy. Sharing the feelings of a person from maybe the other side of the world and receiving such sincere reactions from them, especially in such a world that is becoming increasingly globalized and where consumerism is at its peak. While consumerism is so popular, a person who thinks like me read this article. I was on the verge of being diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia because of these thoughts. But then I realized that I have no problem. I just don't wear blinkers. And I can't tell you how much your comment motivates me. I will continue writing as much as I can. But the best part about this is that people really take their ideas seriously! Even if they don't agree, even if they criticize, it makes a person feel alive. I am very grateful for Rep. I wish you and your family healthy days

And now, exactly 4 months have passed since I wrote that article! My motivation was so high when I wrote it. Looking back now, I feel proud of myself. In fact, what came after that article was a series of self-generating events for me. It's truly as if I'm living life like a movie, and every day feels like the second disc of an old film.

Some organic and deeply rooted forums like BreachForums are truly like something from an undiscovered heaven for certain people. I hope I'm making sense, but usually when I'm in intense emotional states, my words get a bit tangled. Anyway. BF helped me regain my self-respect. I had the spontaneous opportunity to meet multiple people within this community, and I can say I formed indescribable bonds with almost all the new people I met. I saw a common consciousness, and we truly have a connection with the other people in this community in the collective unconscious. I cannot deny this. I know our desire to know and our hunger for learning will keep us alive.
