The laptop debate

One of the most common threads I see on forums is "What is the best laptop for [x]?"
I feel like in almost any art/trade, newcomers assume their is some magic instrument or tool that will somehow catapult them into master status. I have my own preferences, as I am sure all of you do; but as long as the minimum sys reqs are there, does anyone here actually think there is a significant advantage of Lenovo vs Dell vs System76 vs ASUS...?

Personally I was a Dell user, and then had one of my colleagues opinion on it. While we both shared the ups and downs, it seems like ASUS tries their best at performance.

They has this technology to optimize and use the hardware at great level of lengths, everything is great for it. The prices are a little high depending on the region for ASUS more than the DELL builds.

It's overall a great choice in terms of build, battery and sustainability. It tries to gain upper hand at Business and Enterprise users. Excluding the Alienware and gaming series of course.

But over the years, both of them are changing their strategies and prices are being affordable. I would suggest a gamer to go with ASUS meanwhile for daily driver usage and business related work should be done in Dell and others.

there are some dogshit brands to avoid like alienware, and asus have been doing dodgy consumer practices recently, but tbh it doesn't really matter much for people buying low or mid range laptops. idk what the case is for high end laptops cos i don't have that kind of money

I think a lot of it is just what you have gotten comfortable with. I use a Lenovo and I may get another one depending on what I actually see when I want to buy a new one in the next couple months.

However I have asked this question several times myself. All I want is something quality.

well, I think its not the main thing but it does matter, the quality of the brands is different, its always good to see which one gives you the best quality - price

Money is always on ASUS, although Lenovo can knock out a good mid-tier laptop for it's price
