Well Neo was already waking up in a sense. He was starting to see the cracks in the system and feeling like something wasn't right. So in that position I would probably want the truth.

That said, I feel like in a way they all like the Matrix better, they keep going back into it and they get to fly around and do cool things. Then real life is eating grey sludge and sweaty raves. Once you leave the Matrix your access to the Matrix really grows, you kind of gain admin, so I feel like that's better. Downside is the programs hunting you whenever they can.
