Used to be great to think we might automate all of the awful jobs and we could each liver fuller lives. Instead, we've got AI generating Ghibili art and softcore porn.

Nah. That's like 8 years or so away and we are still having issues making agis. Robots as they are right now are still a small part of the work force and an even smaller part of peoples personal lives.

You may want to elaborate on the term "Take over" What does that mean to you? If you're talking about them taking over our jobs... no. They still have a long way to go before they can replace humans. If you're talking about influence, then i suppose so. It's already doing that to some extend.

there's a possible that it could happen. i think it really depends on which way the world goes when technology reaches that point. will we allow for it to happen or will we try and prevent robots from having that power to take over
