Hey, currently theres multiple factors in my life where pure application of my energy and focus on certain tasks is required (because I said so) for 14+ hours a day (mainly studying certain objects).

I'm having difficulties with retaining the discipline and only get maybe 7 hours of pure application of my focus a day.

Someone please give me a method or an inner reasoning that helped for them in your own experience. Idc if its self harm in a certain way, self-manipulation or anything.

7 hours is more than enough dude. You must understand that rest is just as important, you need to give your mind a break to parse all that you've learned

I can't really rest, I need to study mandarin and cantonese, study for my exams in university. Whilst I'm also needing to study philosophy, history, bio, psych, learn piano, etc and ahhhhhhhhhhhh I'm interested in everything, it's a curse.
I want to excell above everyone and anything. Acquire more knowledge than anyone.

Gaining knowledge and chasing it makes me happy and fullfilled.

For anyone interested, I found a reasoning that I started implementing today:

I imagine two personas within my head, the one with positive properties, such as discipline, courage, indifference towards adversity, etc.
And the negative persona, with the bad properties such as lazyness.

I have named the positive one after myself, and the negative one I named 'nameless', as the name of someone with these bad habits wouldn't be remembered troughout history, his name was lost.

The goal is to reject the bad persona completely, whilst embracing the good persona, and thus becoming myself, the person this world requires me to be.

This will simply be achieved by mental exercice, self control, and self-harm whenever I get distracted or stop thinking about chasing knowledge and my superior self.

yeahh... I know...

I drink 4-5 coffees a day but my stomach gets really upset after the 6th Sad

Was thinking about taking rilatin or equasim, things ive used before. But I only use them during exam periods, don't want to get too dependent on them.

I workout for 1 hour a day aswell, you're body and mind is more capable then you think, overworking is something people use too lightly, most of those that think they're overworking, are in fact not overworked.

Again man, just chill out. You might be all buzzing now, but you'll get burnt out eventually, give yourself a bit more respect!

I definitely agree with what was said here.

@op What you're doing is good, perhaps you can push yourself a bit further if you want, but rest is very important as your brain needs time to process the information you've learnt.

Even with me, there's times where the night before i'd be confused af working on something, i'd take a long rest then the next day it's like everything just makes sense; as if something magical has happened.

Set yourself a limit and gradually increase it, if you're doing 7 hours then next week do 9 hours, then so forth until you achieve the goal you're trying to reach.
Limit interactions with social media as those are a big ass distraction & remind yourself that whatever you're doing isn't going to complete itself. In a way you kind of have to isolate yourself from your distractions, remove the things you enjoy doing, it'll only be temporary until you succeed - there's a time for everything.

But most important of all, don't forget to rest, in your resting phrase do the things you enjoy or reflect on what you've learnt. Your brain needs time to untangle & process shit.

Well, that makes two of us, I like technology but I think I'm addicted to it, I can't get away from my cell phone and computer. Sad
