If you don't use onion mirrors, your local IP will show. So yeah VPN+ TOR is the correct answer.

Should really call Tor Browser "Netscape Navigator" as it's honestly like using that fucking software on dial up again lol

The CIA is behind it

Makes sense, caning all the bandwidth watching midget porn.

If you have the time and patience, I'd suggest you read up on the Whonix documentation, its very detailed, thorough and gives you the basic idea of how to keep your OpSec secure.

You could also just setup your own VPN with wireguard or openvpn using a VPS if you like the idea of that better.

Or you could do like I do an setup a VPN on a raspberry Pi that's buried out in the middle of the amazon jungle powered by solar an starlink Big Grin I pay the native tribes in bananas to dig it up move it around for me from time to time an bury it again though sometimes the birds are a little slow getting the message and bananas out there.

For a second, you had me at setting up a VPN on a raspberry PI but the part about the slow digging and bananas cracked me up Big Grin

Dont. why?

1. Tor is enough.
2. A VPN connection to Tor is even more weird then just Tor.
3. The feds would just need to ask the VPN Provider so it really doesnt add any more protection
4. Even slower.

I havent watched to Mental Outlaw video myself until now, but he isnt to bad usually

The more videos anyone sees, the more confused they make you, I mean Person A on youtube would be like use VPN + Tor to make your OpSec more secure and then Person B would be like VPN + Tor is a bad idea, Person C would reccommend something really outrageous when in reality, the more simple you keep it, the easier it is for you to manage your OpSec.
