It's 400x400 and under the specified 1.17 MB i've tried this with other gif's 350x350 & 300x300 doesn't seem to work 
EDIT: Works with still images like .png and .jpg but .gif isn't working

i think its the file type try again with example a png
but still funny how it just wipes your profile picture

It works with jpg but it should also allow .gif

It allows me to upload a .gif file but it doesn't animate, and 1.17MB is too small!
