Hash Format

There was a great thread on the old bf where nuances in hash formats were compiled (for example, if a hash/salt was hash.salt or salt.hash etc). Has that been recreated? if not, maybe we could start it?

I'll add a couple I've found to get it started

chatbooks - hashcat mode 1710, and you append a colon at the end.

avvo, mode 120, append two dashes "--" to the end of the guess, and salt needs to be wrapped in "--"

anyone know about the "promo" database? can't figure that one out.

By Promo, do you mean PromoFarma? If yes, then there is a simple md5 (0 hashсat mode)

you can just use hashid to identify a hash: https://github.com/blackploit/hash-identifier

thanks, i'll check it out. sometimes hashes have interesting nuances to them (like, appending a colon, etc.) so while I can figure out the hash identity, the mode doesn't work because of interesting differences.

That was my thread on BFv1. @Baphomet may be able to restore it since I can't find the original copy on my PC.
Formerly @‍God, but that username was stolen from me.

I found this site too, MD5 hash algorithm, for hash with salt or without salt: https://www.dcode.fr/funcion-hash-md5
on the right side there are general questions for you to see if you have any doubts with the site functions.

as an extra question: do you know how to decrypt a hash without knowing the salt?

Means that it tastes pretty bland.
