Or do voters not care that the taxes they pay go to support the paupers who come from abroad? And all of this depends on the economic policy that the government is pursuing.

Did you see the debate? I don't think he has a clear plan. Just general thoughts.

A lot of people will make their minds after the debate i don't know about that. harris seems to be better at playing the politics game trump's mastered. i think a lot of people that were on the fence about trump won't be swayed by anything harris says because he's a "cult of personality" and she's "politics as usual". and i get that from seeing him booed at the libertarian convention and she wasn't a rising star for democrats...she was just the backup for biden. the enthusiasm we're seeing behind her doesn't point to anything she's done, it's just, in comparison to who WAS running, she's better. also, when was the last time a president won on the depth or thoroughness of their policies? we have "are you better than you were 4 years ago?" and "here's why i'm so much better than the incumbent person/party". i bet we could gamble in saying irregardless of how much substance comes out of the debate, the theater of it will be the big take away. so to answer op's question...no. i think trump needs a new hook to get voters though. RFK Jr was backed by libertarians and people that probably weren't looking at trump as the alternative so rfk's endorsement for trump looks (to me) like bernie's endorsement of clinton where the supporters reasonings don't translate between candidates. |
