depends on the type of machine, operating system, and what information you have about them already since its already in your house do you have access to those machines already? post more details for help

gaining access to the machine is not like in the movies,
it's the same "work" as gaining access to remote machine but with a proxy less, you have to test the surface and find vulnerability(s) or brute force, it's up to your knowledges
