Kali, Parrot OS, or BlackArch?

I usually use Kali for my cybersecurity work/learning, however, I keep hearing things about Parrot OS and BlackArch. Some people say the one is better than the other, the other sucks etc etc. I was wondering if there are any differences that really stand out between the distros besides the underlying base system? Different pre-installed packages maybe?

I found ParrotOS just cleaner, the packages better maintained. Lots more "stuff". Plus if you're into Hack the Box (HTB) there's a ParrotOS variant just for that.

More of a daily driver.
Kali was more for VirtualBox/VMWare so it didn't have much hardware support.

No idea about blackarch.

From what I've seen, Parrot OS has less requirements for installing/running on PCs. Therefore it's good for lower-end PCs or things like Raspberry Pi's I'd imagine. It's a lot more lightweight than Kali is. But other than that there aren't really many differences in terms of packages and software. Software that works on one will most likely also work on the other. Both have their merits, just up to personal preference.

AFAIK parrot was meant too as a desktop OS while Kali is just meant for pentesting/hacking.

Do people still use BlackArch?

Personally, I find both Kali and Parrot OS to be favorable, although I haven't yet had the chance to explore BlackArch. Perhaps I'll give it a try in the future.

Kali Linux is mostly used in VMs. Basically if you are new to pentesting Kali should be okay for some basic stuff. Parrot is lightweight OS. You can run it on literally everything. If you are in stuff like HTB (HackTheBox), you have a variant that's just built for Parrot.

I wouldn't use any of this shit, all three are bloated distros.

I am interested in the topic, for now I have only tried kali, but I am thinking of trying the parrot that they told me is a little faster and consumes fewer resources, but I don't know if it is true since it was obvious that he was a parrot lover
