How did you get scammed:
So let's get some things cleared.

No, I didn't do very much research (how unfortunate, any research would've lead me to the conclusion that this was a scam)

The thread title states: SnowProxies.com.
Banner url? Directs to snowproxies.digital.
What snowproxies.digital redirects to? snowproxy.io

The thread was posted quite some time ago, so is it even the same owner?

Same guy.

I deposited $3 so I could buy: 1 GB bandwidth of residential proxies.

I used the panel to generate a login, received user/pass/host/port (both socks5 + http/https)

But they don't work, at all.

Here's some technical output:

So it's assigned to an IP.

Port 1080 is not open on proxy.snowproxy.io.
Port 8080 is not open on proxy.snowproxy.io.

Ports don't seem to be open, let's try to connect to it anyway?

(I checked from a separate IP , in addition via https://portchecker.co/ just to see if the issue was me)

Yes, there are a few red flags I should've noticed. One neat feature, I didn't notice until afterwards, the telegram/discord contact buttons at the bottom are just images.

Their telegram is @snowproxy and the first thing that pops up is someone that made a channel @snow_proxy in Octoboer of 2023 stating that they were a scammer.

They have one form of contact within the site, some live chat form called crisp, I'm still waiting on an Email to be returned!
