Overall I just dislike phone registration, even though you can get a burner it's still annoying to work with. Also, I recall it having some issues with E2EE and them handing data over to feds. I'd argue matrix and session are better, although they both have their own issues.

i dont trust Telegram... its a App... which wasnt made that long ago & is controlled and managed by a TEAM, that TEAM can give logs to the feds if they ask for it, i dont know where you guys have found out that ''feds cant get logs on telegram''.... dont know which retard told you that, but its fake information,

i look at telegram the same way i look at - Discord,Whatsapp,Skype,FB,IG,SC,TT,VK .... its a APP, its basically social media... and if people on breach forums are able to breach ANY SOCIAL MEDIA.... i dont see how Feds wouldnt be able to get access to it,

i Prefer XMPP... its old school.... came out in 1999... and nobody controls over it or has access to manage it, its mostly annonymous... and your average FBI employee most likely doesnt know what it is or how to access it, anyone who actually does ILLEGAL shit on here... HAS XMPP... and the newbies who want to seem like they do CRAZY stuff...... well.... they use Discord & Telegram & Whatsapp.

Getting a fake phone number to register in Telegram is so easy since Telegram won't block fake numbers like other social media do...
So, when you're not there with your real identity, it doesn't matter even if you somehow get hacked!

the telegram community is very large, because it has been used for a long time it is reliable, there are new options that are similar but they lack veracity and more people to support them, for the moment the best option is telegram

I partly agree. But, it all depends on your threat model and jurisdiction. For most of the dirty stuff, Telegram is fine.
Since MTProto protocol is open-source, you can explore and learn it, but Telegram servers are the black box, you'll never know what they do on their side.

i agree. Telegram needs an online web site so we do not have to use mobile. otherwise it needs a burner phone and it tells what country you are in

There are ways to use the app wisely. There are some good communities there. I wouldn't want to miss out.
