from the news itself and as the french law work: using someone else credential without it's consent is exactly the same as hacking, and the way they got the information is by trying a lot of account against the application, once they found an admin one they simply stole every data he was able to get AND they also searched for the other admin, from memory, france travail wase pole emploi and it was clustered by region but the admin are able to communicate with each other. Also as for if they used a server or not and everything else let's assume they wern't able to try hundred of thousand of account using a 4G/5G phone or even using their own network, I can't believe France don't have a minimum secuirty layer for the sensitives services.
And now as for how they were able to catch them? let's just take a guess or two, the frenchies are under constant attack because of the olympique, I suppose they created something in order to be able to find who did what, also i've read a news where they say a few country in europe paid a very huge amount to create a cyber shield like, maybe one of it's feature is simply to keep track of everything

I read this news earlier in the day. I'm surprised about the age's kid: it prove that anyone can do everything. Unfortunately, I think we will never see the leak... Same.

Considering they dumped 40 million records, I highly doubt they did it by manually logging into each account. It's more likely they discovered a vulnerability, given France's lax cybersecurity measures. They probably exploited a straightforward flaw and extracted the data directly onto their personal computer. They were caught due to phone data aggregation, indicating they likely carried out their activities on their home network, possibly using their big Livebox or their big €16.99 Orange mobile plan, lol

They are 3 between 20 and 22 years old and yes indeed unfortunately we will never see the database, but it was really incredible name, surname, social security number, email, phone, address. It was the dream database

I confirm lol. in France, the majority of crimes are committed by migrants and France kindly keeps them BTW

Sure, we're dealing with competition-grade idiots, they're doing this on their own personal PCs with their own 4G. I imagine even for encryption, they probably just used BitLocker lol. So putting the database on a server is unthinkable, especially since it's national security. When they get out of prison, if they make the mistake of leaking or selling the database, The BL2C will come to pull up them LOL
