Which distro?

I'm just starting out with getting into the craft, which distro will teach my foundational skills to know my way around linux or does it even it matter?

for starting, choose Fedora, Ubuntu or LinuxMint

For beginners, it's cool to use Debian with a Desktop Environment, and once you feel comfortable with the terminal, you can install a distro like Ubuntu Server or Debian without a Desktop Environment.
