I'll tell you a terrible secret. The dollar is just a green piece of paper. By imposing sanctions on other countries, the US has reduced the dollar's influence on the economies of other countries. The dollar is now not just unsecured, it has become unreliable. That's why the Arabs have abandoned the dollar's monopoly in oil payments.
